Cardiovascular diseases are our nation's #1 killer, taking nearly one million American lives every year. That's more than the next five leading causes of death combined!
A few years ago we lost Uncle Earl to heart disease. I want to run in his honor and know it will push me to do my best and get my heart in shape so I can always be here for those I love.
I also found out the race is to raise awareness for stroke which is the #3 killer in the U.S. So this is for Papa Tom too who I miss a whole lot. Love you Papa!
